Jacob's blessing on Judah
Genesis 49:8–12
A lion's whelp, the sceptre that shall not depart until he comes to whom it belongs, the foal bound to the vine.
8 “Yahawadah (Judah), Athah (you) YaYawadahawak (praise you) Achayak (your brothers). Yadak (your hand) BaIrap (on neck) Ayabayak (your enemies). YaThaShachahawaw ([reflexive] bow down him) Lak (for you) Banay (son) Abayak (your father's).
9 Gawar (𐤂𐤅𐤓) Arayah (lion's cub) Yahawadah (Judah). MaTarap (from prey), Banay (my son), Ilahayath (you gone up). YaKarai (stooped down), YaRabatz (he crouched) KaArayah (as 𐤀𐤓𐤉) WaKaLabayaa (and as lion), WaKaLabayaa (and as a lioness). May (Who) YaQawayamaw (rouse him up)?
10 Laa (NOT) YaSawar (scepter depart) Shabat (𐤔𐤁𐤈) MaYahawadah (from Judah), WaMaChaqaq (and ruler's) MaBayanaRagalayaw (from between his feet), IdaKay-YaBawaa (as far as surely comes) Shayalah (Shiloh) WaLaw (and belongs him). Yaqahahath (𐤉𐤒𐤄𐤄) Imayam (obedience peoples).
11 Asaray (Binding) LaGapan (to vine), Iyaraw (his foal) WaLaSharaqah (and to choice vine) Banay (donkey's son); Athawanaw (his 𐤀𐤕𐤅𐤍) YaKabas (he washed) BaYayan (in wine), Labawashaw (his garments) WaBaDam (and robes in blood) Inabayam (grapes) Sawathaw (his 𐤎𐤅𐤕).
12 Chakalayalay (Red) Iyanayam (eyes) MaYayan (from wine), WaLaban (and white) Shanayam (teeth) MaChalab (from milk).
